day 1 - enter -

Every door offers an invitation to enter.
I consider doors I’ve entered the holidays through, without thought.
Likely because I’ve entered them every year, in much the same way.
Or perhaps I’ve felt the surge of everyone around me pushing through the opening and I’m unintentionally sucked in through a door I wouldn’t have chosen with a little thought.

As mobs around you enter through various doors to this week of Thanksgiving, stop and choose which door you want to enter.
It can start today. Last minute shopping for the Thanksgiving feast? You don’t have to allow the frenzy around you to choose how your soul will navigate the maniac shopping cart lady or the grumpy line-waiters or the traffic tangles.
Enter through The Door.
The door to kingdom living is always through Jesus.
He IS the Way to find peace in the push.
When we enter through the door of Jesus, we cross the threshold to a different realm of celebrating the holidays. We can be walking alongside everyone else doing it the way our culture does, but we can literally see a different way and walk in that. The door He shows us reframes our perspective. It can open us to new and purposeful practices for the holidays, that will nurture our spirits, souls and bodies.
Begin today by asking Him what His door to this day looks like for you.
Does it start with surrender? Or thanks? Or 5 minutes of quiet? Or His Word on your lips?
Enter the door He shows you today.
Psalms 100:4 (ESV) “Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!”
Matthew 7:13 (NLT) “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to destruction is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. “
Matthew 7:7-8 (ESV) “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.”
John 10:7-10 (Amplified Bible - AMP) “So Jesus said again, "I assure you and most solemnly say to you, I am the Door for the sheep [leading to life]. All who came before Me [as false messiahs and self-appointed leaders] are thieves and robbers, but the [true] sheep did not hear them. I am the Door; anyone who enters through Me will be saved [and will live forever], and will go in and out [freely], and find pasture (spiritual security). The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].”
